Windows 7 is a computer operating system produced by the Microsoft as the part of the Windows NT family of operating systems. It became available on 22 October 2009, even before three years of the release of its predecessor, Windows Vista. It initially was intended to address Vista’s poor critical reception while maintaining software and the hardware compatibility. Windows 7 continued the improvements on the Windows Aero, adding a redesigned taskbar that allows the applications to be “pinned.” windows seven was being praised by the critics, who considered an operating system to be a significant improvement.

If you are not willing to upgrade to Windows 10, you can do without it. Microsoft wants all the laptops and PCs to run Windows 10, but almost 40% of Windows machines are still on windows7. Some of these are the home users but particularly are the businesses.

Microsoft has announced that it is offering the security updated beyond that 14 January 2020 date for the users those who are want to continue running Windows 7 up to January 2023. It is aimed only at the businesses and not the home users; it applies only to Windows7 Professional and Winows7 Enterprise versions. It is explained on the Microsoft’s 365 blogs that the extended updates will be ‘sold on a per device basis and the price will also get an increase each year.
The prices haven’t yet been announced, but it still provides a way for anyone who is running these versions to continue to run Windows7 safely for another 4.5 years. The blog also explains that “Office 365 Pro Plus will be supported on the devices with active Windows 7 Extended Security Updates through January 2023. Customers who will purchase the Windows7 ESU will be capable of running office 365 ProPlus. This also applies more to the businesses than the home users. If the prices are proving too much expensive and you are running Windows 7 Home, then it is not wise to run Windows 7 beyond 14 January 2020 if your PC is connected to the Internet.
